DAY THREE


India needed some big scores from its batsman and things looked well until Lee drew the first blood when dismissed Gautam Gabhir for 21. Shewag fell to Mitchell Johnson edging one wide delivery to Hayden who was at slips. Tendulkar came to the middle with Dravid and Tendulkar needing 64 runs to break Lara’s record of most runs in test matches looked well until chipped one delivery to Cameron White off Mitchell Johnson and Laxman joined Dravid at center.

Soon Laxman was out edging one Mitchell Jonson delivery to Brad Haddin. Indians were trembling @ 106 for four. Ganguly joined Dravid and these two played some good shots and kept Indian hopes alive they added 49 runs for the 5th wicket before Dravid who made a fine fifty was out LBW and Watson gave Aussies an Important breakthrough.

Dhoni never looked like playing and was soon out missing one of Michel Clarke’s slow left arm delivery which hit the stumps after hitting a crack and India seemed they had no hopes when they lost Ganguly also to Johnson India was 232/7. Then it was Harbhajan and Zaheer who added a important 80 runs for eighth wicket before Harbhajan was dismissed for 54 by Watson India ended Day three with 313/8 Zaheer(35) and Kumble(0) @ the crease and Mitchell Johnson was the pick of the Aussie bowlers with 4 wickets while Watson managed to pickup 2 , Brett Lee and Michel Clarke managed one wicket each. Stuart Clark was Wicket less.
