The Unexpected call

I was placed in Caritor Technologies (Now Keane), way back in June 22nd of the year 2006, it was my first campus interview which was on campus and I made through and got an offer. After that I had two more offers and joined Tata Elxsi Limited as I mentioned earlier. Cognizant (CTS) called me in November 19th of the year 2007, I joined Tata Elxsi Limited way back in 11th June of 2007. The interesting thing was Caritor didn’t call me and I was waiting when they will think of calling me. Then some where in February my friends were called to join some in Chennai and some in Hydrabad but still I was no where intimated officially.
Sometime later they mailed me from campus helpdesk saying that I should update my contact details and I did the same and after one year I got a call day before yesterday (March 16th of 2009) saying that they have my joining date and I was asked to join on 23rd March 2009 as a trainee for a stifund of 8000 bucks per month and once I finish my training I will be offered 2.75 Lakhs per annum. I listened to them patiently asked them what took them so long to call me, the reply was when they called me through my mobile I was not reachable and to read the mail I sent and call be back on my new number took them one year (Great Isn’t it??). Finally I said, “I won’t join you, thanks for your call… I am working for the past one and a half years in Tata Elxsi Limited as a Design Engineer. Since this was my first company where I got placed just wanted to know when you people will call me so only I updated my contact details”. The lady at the other end said “Thanks for your time and all the very best for your future.” Finally I got a call from the company were I thought I will work.
