I was just checking for tickets that can be booked online that is when I came across this site, this is basically an American site which I found was very useful. And if we can go ahead with such a design well everything will be easy through the Internet and u can just get everything on your browser itself.

They had it like statewise, games wise and also clubs wise also, which I felt was great and it will be lot more easy for people's to make their choice. The few things which I felt was really good were the Tickets for the LSU Tigers football game and Tickets for the Michigan Wolverines football game.

Reliving the Past - Foot board travel

I know that I didn't blog for long time. I was going through tough times, my mind was wandering around and I never felt like I am alive for the past few months. There were many things which I wanted to write but later when the other things clogged my thoughts I forgot what I thought I wanted to write the moment I reach my office. These days that I came through recently were very different. And I was traveling to my hometown almost every weekend.

Initially I thought I was the only one having tough times, but everyone I spoke said the same thing like this year they are all going through tough times. I am kind of through with it or may be am near to the end of the tunnel. The thing was yesterday I was traveling from Central Silk Board to Banashankari, nothing special about that you may think. It was special, I was foot boarding. Its not often that you get chance to travel in foot board after you pass out from college, and that too not in Bangalore where there are automatic doors in every bus.

That journey yesterday bought me memories of my college days where I had to travel in the foot board for last three years. There used to be a minibus in which we used to travel and its like most of the people will be traveling in that. Everyday there will be a big fight for people to get a seat in the foot board. It got me those times where there used to be me and my friends at the foot board and we get down at each stop and get it again once the bus starts moving. I even once was scolded by the bus driver when I was traveling at the foot board. I felt so offended not because he scolded me, it was because I was foot boarding near to the front door of the bus where the girls usually stand :-( .

It was hard to think that these things happened three years back. Even I could believe that I am three years into my professional life. This month on June 11 I finished my three years of professional life. The one sentence that keeps me going these days is the following “ The darkest hour of the night is just before the dawn. ”. I hope this is my darkest hour and the dawn is not far away.

WHY EMPLOYEES LEAVE ORGANISATIONS ?

Every company faces the problem of people leaving the company for better pay or profile.

Early this year, Mark, a senior software designer, got an offer from a prestigious international firm to work in its India operations developing specialized software. He was thrilled by the offer.

He had heard a lot about the CEO. The salary was great. The company had all the right systems in place employee-friendly human resources (HR) policies, a spanking new office, and the very best technology, even a canteen that served superb food.

Twice Mark was sent abroad for training. "My learning curve is the sharpest it's ever been," he said soon after he joined.

Last week, less than eight months after he joined, Mark walked out of the job.

Why did this talented employee leave ?

Arun quit for the same reason that drives many good people away.

The answer lies in one of the largest studies undertaken by the Gallup Organization. The study surveyed over a million employees and 80,000 managers and was published in a book called "First Break All The Rules". It came up with this surprising finding:

If you're losing good people, look to their manager .... the manager is the reason people stay and thrive in an organization. And he's the reason why people leave. When people leave they take knowledge, experience and contacts with them, straight to the competition.

" People leave managers not companies ," write the authors Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman.

Mostly manager drives people away?

HR experts say that of all the abuses, employees find humiliation the most intolerable. The first time, an employee may not leave, but a thought has been planted. The second time, that thought gets strengthened. The third time, he looks for another job.

When people cannot retort openly in anger, they do so by passive aggression. By digging their heels in and slowing down. By doing only what they are told to do and no more. By omitting to give the boss crucial information. Dev says: "If you work for a jerk, you basically want to get him into trouble. You don't have your heart and soul in the job."

Different managers can stress out employees in different ways - by being too controlling, too suspicious, too pushy, too critical, but they forget that workers are not fixed assets, they are free agents. When this goes on too long, an employee will quit - often over a trivial issue.

The First Step for the Journey of Thousand Miles …

                 Everyone would have heard the proverb that Even a journey of thousand miles begins with a single step. Now it’s my time to begin a journey of thousand miles and here I am taking my first step towards the same. I always wanted to be a teacher someone who can actually teach people not act like I am teaching. I always wanted to start an institution and help people get knowledge beyond the economic barriers. I strongly believed that only education can eradicate poverty and when the world has the provision to distribute education beyond the economic barriers then this world will be free of poverty. I may not be able to convince this principle mine to neither the World Bank nor the UNO. Even my own country will fail to understand this statement, let alone the country even my neighbor will look at me like a lunatic, when I say only education can eradicate poverty. So why prove them that this statement is a truth theoretically, I wanted to prove it practically. That’s what my dream was to start an educational institution and provide education beyond the economic barriers.
                 Finally I took my first step after a year of planning and proper execution, my first dream is getting delivered. As I type this here, there are people running there in TIRUCHENGODE to realize my dreams. January 22nd 2010 will be a memorable day as that’s when the Ganapathi homam is planned in my computer educational center in tiruchengode. It took exactly eleven months to get it to this condition lot of behind the screen action and that was the only thing happening so far. The first one to take place in front of the people and officially letting everyone know that we are starting one institution will happen in two days. Now I feel like, I am like a student who wrote the examination for the first time and waiting eagerly for the results. Curiosity is killing me and almost I can say I am half dead. I am attaching the official banner of the same with this post. Hope this goes a grand success and I can prove what I always wanted to prove.
                 I like to thank all those people who supported me morally and gave me suggestions and wished me both good luck and bad luck. Especially those who said All the best in front of me and said he will screw things up when I was not around. Even I am equally eager to know what the answer that Time is going to give to both of us. As of now all I can say is “Just wait… Lets see what unfolds!!!”

Long hours and Busy days...

I don't get time to blog these days... That’s surprising me… these days it’s all work and no fun. Spending most of my time in office, the whole week and all day am in office. Just because I say I love my work doesn’t mean that I don’t any other work to do. I also have many other things which I love other than my work also. The only thing which keeps me going through all this tough time is my love towards the work. Someday when I lose my love towards work I don’t know what’s going to happen. I feel like I am being pushed to my limits.

Sometimes people don’t understand that all the motivation one needs is just acknowledgement of his hard work and not appreciation or awards… When people don’t understand this simple fact life simply seems like you are carrying a heavy burden. Every day seems like a thousand years together.

The only good thing that happened in the recent time was that I was being promoted. A long waited letter, that finally came through two and a half years and then finally there I get the door to next level opening for a new adventure. Waiting for my promotion letter was like waiting for my graduation card in my school days and exam results in my collage days. The curiosity and thrill were the same. Another thing that happened was the team outing, to be frank I wanted to write a whole post on it and elaborate it. I remember last year it was two post about the outing but work has kept me occupied so couldn’t write a lot about it.

The outing was to Mysore, like last time there was no dancing in bus and all because we went by train. It was altogether a different experience. We enjoyed a lot; as usual the team in which I was put finally came out as the winners. There were two persons with the team, who were from France. The main thing to mention was the DRUNKARDS CONFERENCE that we had on the first day evening after disco. We reached Mysore in the afternoon, right after the lunch the team building activities started. It was fun and there were lot of controversies involved or I should say politics. Then after the team building was the DISCO, we had lot of fun and of course lot of sweating also as there was no AC in the DISCO Hall.

After DISCO was the DRUNKARDS CONFERENCE, as most of the people were drunk and since I was the once who never drinks I was speaking to people who were drunk and making them speak and as you all know how drunk people will speak it was a fun to watch. Actually I was doing it in small scale within our gang. When suddenly one friend of mine, who was drunk bumped into a conversation with one of the French guys and he fired questions to that guy asking how French handled Hitler’s attack during Second World War and went into history. Luckily the other guy, who is French was also equally drunk to and was answering him patiently. The ultimate fun was when the French guy asked my friend about India’s History, he asked him from when he wanted to know was it from 1860 or 1940 or after independence. That’s when I realized people remember history even when they are drunk. A

After that was the kick start of the drunkard’s conference as the other people also came for dinner and then it started off. This went till 12 AM the next day, at the end of the DRUNKARDS CONFERENCE, everyone was sure of one thing that I was the biggest DRUNKARD around. That’s the way I am even without drinking I speak like a DRUNKARD, some day when I learn to drink I don’t know how big disaster it will be. The next day was quite boring and so we bunked out few of the activities and tried to play tennis for sometime. Then we checked out and came back. That’s all about the outing, the resort was Wind Flower, Mysore which I forgot to mention it was a lovely one. Hope I go there some other day but not with guys.

The Dashing Diwali Part - Two…

I know promises are always hard to keep… that too when it is time bound it’s really difficult. I wanted to finish off with this second post but it took more than what I thought this will take. Last post I wrote till I reached home. Nothing much that night or I should say morning as I reached at 2 A.M. Just dozed off and woke up for diwali has bath and was waiting for the whole family to reach home. Then we offered prayers to god and that was the time to wear new dress, I should say I had a surprise. Last two years I didn’t celebrate diwali and this year diwali didn’t want me to celebrate it. The pant which I bought for diwali, had the zip broken so I was unable to wear it. I thought at least I will wear the shirt but to my surprise it was too short. I thought I just wanted a short shirt but all I got was a shirt which was too short. Then I was left celebrating the diwali in old dress only. I had great time with my brothers and sisters. It was a nice family get-together. Then I returned to Erode on Sunday evening. I had to return since I had a get-together with my schoolmates that evening. Myself, Vijayan (SPL), Venkatesh Mani, Subash, Sokkumuthu, Gokula Krishnan and Murugaraj, this was the list of people who was there. Ragavendran missed out as he had to go to Karur.

We met at Sokkumuthu’s house, and then decided to go to a restaurant. We went to Padmam, one of the good restaurants in the town. It was good look wise and I felt the atmosphere like it was candle light dinner effect. The lighting was dim and was good. Then we went on ordering and chatting about the good old times and the old stories. The lighting had a small impact on food. Venkatesh who mistook salt instead of pepper added more and more and his soup tasted like hot sea water… thanks to the lighting. Then came the climax when we finished our dinner and the bill came. Venkatesh who wanted to pay it by card and the waiter said “No Sir. We don’t accept cards…” Now people looked at me as though I am Nostradamus since I said “Let’s check whether they accept cards” just at the time we were entering the restaurant. Luckily we had some cash left and also the bill was not much we paid and went out to our homes. Then Tuesday I took left and boarded the train in the evening and came back to Bangalore at 8 P.M. It was a nice journey and I had lot of time to spend with friends and people whom I was waiting to see.

I have also attached the few snaps that we took during the get-together. I feel great for finishing this post... I feel like as though I wrote an epic, every day, every minute and every second was thinking of writing and finishing it off but couldn't find time to do the same. Finally I have done it... So cheers, hope there are lot more to come like this in my life.

The Dashing Diwali Part - One…

I know I am writing this after so many days. I really wanted to write it on the very day I came back to Bangalore and Even I thought of writing it back in my Lappy and just post it as soon as I come back to my desk on Wednesday 21st of October. But as usual, I am just another lazy guy on this universe so this took me this long. So what’s so special about this diwali, when go back down the memory lane… this is the first diwali for me that I am celebrating after I joined my dream job. Last two years I didn’t go home so no celebrations that’s one important reason but that’s not the only reason I had a get together with my schoolmates though not will all of them but with few guys who were also around the same time and again that’s not just the reason they way I started home for diwali that itself was special. Because I was traveling with Vijayan and Ragavendran, my schoolmates so the journey was guaranteed to have fun.

Let me start it from the beginning, as we already planned we started on 16th October 2009 afternoon. Nagavara was our meeting spot, where we decided to get along. I and Ragavendran have agreed to come along with luggage to office so that we can leave from office directly. Vijayan had to come to Nagavara then we will join and go to Silk board then will board a Salem bus that was the plan. To tell about Vijayan, he is our SPL (School People Leader but actually School Poriki leader fits him most) and Ragavendran was our Budjet padmanaban…. Vijayan reached at the exact time and Ragaven too joined him on time but I was late (As usual J )… then on phone we decided that they will go to Ram Moorthy Nagar signal, where Ragavan will change to slippers from shoes… I had to agree since I had no other choice. Reason one I can get some more time to start from office and the main reason was I cant’ bear the dead rat’s smell or hydrogen sulphide odur from Ragavan’s socks. I started exactly after one hour from my exact time. They were there waiting for me I got many calls from Ragavan. He was sick of waiting for me and was in a verge to leave to silk board but when I spoke to Vijayan he struck a deal with me he said he will wait if I promise him two cigars I liked the deal and agreed to the same.

When I reached Ram Moorthy Nagar Signal where the other two were waiting I had another great laugh after hearing the story. Ragavan had packed his slippers at morning five so he had two different combinations which he kept along in the early morning. So he had to go to his room to find the exact pair of slippers. Then there was a dilemma between us whether to go to silk board or to majestic to catch a bus, we ran towards each bus stop for five minutes and there was another deal which ever has a Volvo we will board it. Ragavan proposed it and I agreed to the same. We found a Volvo coming our way in the outer ring road towards silk board, we boarded the same. Finally we reached silk board around 2.30 P.M. All the buses were crowded like hell so we decided to go to majestic to get a seat for ourselves, without wasting time we ate boiled corn in silk board. Got to the other side of the road, Vijiyan gave an awesome idea… or so he said that we will get into a salem bus and to satellite bus stand then from there to salem again so that we get seats for sure. But the conductors of the buses which came were dumb and they didn’t really appreciate our idea so boarded a ksrtc bus to satellite bus stand. We reached majestic at 4 P.M. My dad called me and asked where I was I said him that am going to Majestic. We started at 12 P.M and even after four hours we were still inside Bangalore. After Majestic there was a diversion route so the bus had to go half the way around Bangalore to reach satellite bus stand. We reached Satellite bus stand at 4.30 P.M. Then we had lunch and boarded a Salem bus at 5 P.M. To my surprise the bus stand was empty and there was no sign of crowd.

The bus started to move and it was crawling I should say, we reached silk board at 7 P.M the place which we left at 3 P.M. Finally when we crossed Bangalore border it was 7.30 P.M. The whole Hosur road was jammed like hell. After 12 hours journey, we finally reached Salem at 12 A.M of 17th October 2009 which was Diwali. We celebrated there together then had to split up. I had to go to Rasipuram and those two had to go to Erode. I boarded a bus at 12.10 A.M which started after one hour and I reached home at 2 A.M. The whole journey we had fun watched movie in my laptop, then had the old stories… the days were before our eyes the day when we planned to burn school, the day when we were caught for copying, the day when our tenth results came without all our numbers on the news papers and many more. We didn’t realize the 12 hours passed just like that. Thanks for the wise cracks by Vijayan and timely help from Ragavan.

After a long wait... I am going to relax...

I know it has been quite a long gap after which am writing... First and foremost I like to say sorry. I have been occupied by work and was quite busy. Didn't had time to look into by comments even. I was eagerly waiting for writing in my blog again and also to the long weekend. Today am leaving Bangalore and will be back in the city only on 28th. May be this is the longest span, that I will be out of the city in the past two years.

The whole eleven days ahead from 18th September to 28th September are filled with vacuum and I may not have access to internet, that's why am writing now. My sincere thanks to Phani Kiran, he was the guy who gave me the idea to blog. Morning while having breakfast I was blabbering that I don’t know how I am going to kill the time till afternoon and he said why don’t you blog that’s why I am writing this post.

I am being called to My Department Symposium as a jury on 18th September, so am looking forward to that. I had gone through the abstracts and am ready with the questions for the session. I did my home work, but I know it will be a hard time for those people who are presenting their papers in their session.

This symposium is a special thing for me, because three years back on the day of the symposium only I had my Tata Elxsi Interview. I guess I am called for the thing which I missed three years back. That time I was a Student now a Jury but nothing changes that. Even in those days I was the guy who popped up lot of questions, now this time I am officially invited for doing same which I was doing in the past. Other things are unplanned as of now hope I have interesting and relaxing weekend ahead.

Swine Flu..????.. Is It All Crap..~~~~

1) Swine flue is the disease originated in Mexico Latin America where large amount of pork is consumed.The disease is also present in USA , Canada etc. where pork is consumed. You are quite aware that pork is not at all popular in Pune.

2) Till date only 136 people are dead all over the world due to Swine flue within last one and half year.

3) The swine flue virus thrives in the atmosphere below temp. of 27 degree Celsius and please note that the temp. is 33 degree Celsius in Pune .

4)The most of the people died in Pune recently were having various other ailments and the real cause of the death is not swine flue.

5) The swine flue virus grows in acidic medium and our saliva is alkaline and it is impossible that the virus will be alive in alkaline medium.

6) The swine flue tablets manufacturing co. is based at USA and its stock for India is unsold for last two-three years and the expiry date for the medicines is approaching very fast.
The fear is created In Pune since the purchasing power of Pune is grown substantial recently in last 5 years due to foreign investment and development of software co..

7) The new vaccine is coming up in the market developed by the USA co. It will enter in market within next three months and will be priced at Rs. 3000 /- .Look at the scope for selling in Pune for the population of 35 lacs people who are living under fear.Please note that the co. has taken patent for the vaccine so that no other co. can manufacture the same.

8) Please note that in India daily 1500 people die due to Cancer and around similar no. due to TB but it has never become headline or news on the front page.Then how swine flue has become the head line? The all news items are paid advertisement and obviously the next target is Mumbai.

9) Do you remember Hepatitis B vaccine drama which was played some years ago . Actually Hepatitis B is not at all existent in India and only Hepatitis A is existent in India. After High court verdict the manufacturing of Hep. B was stopped in India due to PIL filed by social activist in India.But till then the vaccine co. has generated crores of rupees.

10) In any case if any body is facing swine flue then pl. do not worry . You can take Arsenic Alb 200 ( homeopathic ) , Giloi(Gul wel) , Tulas and will be cured 100% as swine flue is curable disease.

11) Look at the loss of Pune for last 10 days for an amount of Rs. 5000 Crs and do you want to loose further Rs. 3000 /- per vaccine per head in Pune for around 35 lacks people?

Swine Flu - Some Unpublicized preventative steps reg H1N1 - a doctor from AIIMS

Have been seeing a lot of people running around with mask and looking like some under cover agents or Doctors in operation theatres… oh ya I forgot that this is Swine flu season. I don’t think such hype is needed and thanks to media for helping the mask makers to make hefty lot of money out of this… That’s a different story all I wanted is to share some info that I got from mail. This may reduce the scare or so I believe…

Some tips for prevention from AIIMS doctor

Friends,

Thanks to media hype about H1N1, several people who trust me have either approached or called me to advice. The hype in media about the utility of face masks and N95 respirators as a tool for general protection against H1N1 can't be deplored enough. Yesterday, a friend who listened wanted me to write down briefly what I advised so that he could tell others in similar words. Hence this short email to friends whom I have advised recently (and others whom I haven't yet). Please realize that this is not an official advice, especially the one about face masks or N95.

Most N95 respirators are designed to filter 95% particulates of 0.3µ, while the size of H1N1 virus is about 0.1µ. Hence, dependence on N95 to protect against H1N1 is like protecting against rain with an umbrella made of mosquito net.

Tamiflu does not kill but prevents H1N1 from further proliferation
till the virus limits itself in about 1-2 weeks (its natural cycle). H1N1, like other Influenza A viruses, only infects the upper respiratory tract and proliferates (only) there. The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/ throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps - not fully highlighted in most official communications - can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you
don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the
throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, clean your nostrils at least once every day
with warm salt water. Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.

5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. Drink as much of warm liquids as you can. Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

All these are simple ways to prevent, within means of most households, and certainly much less painful than to wait in long queues outside public hospitals.

The So Called Interview ...

Yesterday (Sunday July 12, 2009) there was an interview in Robert Bosch, Adugodi Bangalore for Apprenticeship. My junior’s sister was attending it and so to guide them I was there. This is the First Interview I heard in the recent months for Engineers who passed out recently. I expected people in hundreds and we were there before two hours.

The interview process was scheduled to start at 12 PM, and the written test was supposed to span 4 hours plus. It was communicated early, that the result will be announced on the same day. We were sitting in the nearby bus stop and trying to kill time so that we can get her in.

Somewhere around 10.45 AM I felt like there is much of crowd so it’s better to get inside the gates else it will be difficult. So I conveyed the same and myself, my junior’s sister and her dad we all moved and to my surprise there were people already inside the main gate and waiting. They were around some three hundred plus people inside and another four hundred plus people outside at 10.50 AM. People were pouring in every minute.
We got in and after ten minutes, there came an announcement. Saying that the people are supposed to form two queues, One for Mechanical and Mechanical Allied branches and another for Non - Mechanical and Non - Mechanical Allied Branches. I came out along her father and we were waiting. They called some 150 people from both the branches in the queue and suddenly all the people inside were asked to leave saying that they don’t have vacancy and will let them know if there rises any. There were totally some thousand five hundred plus people who gathered there and most of them were from other states and cities. People were so disappointed and left off scolding the people around.

That was insane, I thought, People wasted their time, money and hopes too. They were feeling bad and disappointed. The people at Bosch should have planned it well. They had online registration and a 13 page form which was filled online by each candidate before a month. Even after that they didn’t know the count of people and they just called out everyone.

The Great Outing to Aasanur

I went for an outing to Aasanur,which is in Sathyamangalam – Mysore Highway with my friends last weekend on 04th and 5th July. The trip was organized by my friend Ashik, there were totally ten people. We left Erode around 7 PM and reached Aasanur around 11 PM. We got a bus from Erode to Sathyamangalam. We reached Satyamangalam around 9 PM. There was no bus to Mysore there at that point of time so we decided to wait for some more time. After some 15 mins a KSRTC bus, but the conductor asked us not to board the bus as though there are thousand people waiting to get into the bus and travel till Mysore.

We boarded the bus and took tickets neither Ashik nor the Conductor knew the stop. It was a nice journey there were some 27 hair pin bends and it was exciting since it was a night journey through the mountain. Finally I went and asked the Driver about the stop and he said the bus will stop there in Aasanur for dinner. Thanks to my Kannada knowledge. Without which it would have been a little difficult. We got down at Aasanur check post around 10.50 PM. Ashik had already arranged accommodation so we went straight to our house. We settled down had dinner and watched Evil Dead – Part One and doze off.

Next day morning we all got ready by 6 AM and the person who is our guide also came at 6 O’clock itself to take us inside forest. Our guide’s name was CAPTAIN. He was an elderly man in his 50’s I believe. He took us through the road then we started climbing the mountain. He was fast moving in the mountains and we guys were tired, just in five minutes of time. We took some rest then started climbing again. I should say the climate was damn good. Aasanur is a part of the Western Ghats, it was cloudy throughout the day and there was little drizzling too. Captain said there are Elephants, Leopards, Porcupines and Wild Boars in this forest. We saw some porcupine thorns and Ashik took them with him. We roamed around in that forest area for sometime then decided to get down from the mountain and have breakfast.

We moved down the hill this time we took the road. We walked into a hotel down the hill in the village. We had good breakfast the food was good and cheap at the same time. Then we went back into the room around 11 O’clock. We decided to have bath, pack things and leave Aasanur by 2 O’clock so that we can all return to Erode around 5 O’clock. We watched the remaining two parts of Evil Dead and took bath. As planned we left Aasanur around 2.15 PM. This time we were all at the bus steps, hanging around and enjoyed the whole 27 hair pin bends. It was really entertaining and at the same time was dangerous as the curves were really sharp. We reached Sathyamangalam around 3 O’clock had lunch then got a bus to Erode. We reached Erode around 5.15 PM. That was an amazing trip. Thanks to Ashik, who organized such a lovely trip, I should say we all thought that it won’t be such a nice place but he proved we are all wrong.

The Amazing Saturday

The Saturday on 27/06/2009 was very special and also fun filled. I had the best time on that day in this whole year or I should say in the last couple of years. June 11, 2009 I finished my two years tenure in Tata Elxsi Limited (TEL). All my colleagues went out for a team lunch and only four of us missed it since we are in an Offshore Development Center (ODC). So we all planned that we will celebrate it on 27/06/2009. I, Nagarjuna Reddy, Phani Kiran and Jani Basha, we four planned for ANGELS AND DEMONS @ Fame Cinemas in Lido Mall.

We booked the tickets on Friday itself, the show was at 11.15. We didn’t even thought about how much fun it we. The day came and we were there @ the mall by 10.45 as we decided earlier. We went to the movie and as expected the movie was good. After the movie was when the real fun started. We guys came out after the movie. We were all in mood for another movie. Jani left as he had to go to his uncle’s house. It was only three of us left I, Phani and Nagarjuna. We decided to go to Terminator. We went back to the queue to get the ticket there was one guy just in front of us in the queue who was asking for availability of tickets till next year and didn’t buy one. Just because of him we missed that show since there were only two tickets left when we enquired and we were three of us. Nagarjuna proposed that we will go to “THE HANGOVER”. We booked the tickets for the 4.30 show.

We had to kill two hours of our time. So we decided that we will go to Bangalore Central and roam there to kill time. We went there and scanned each floor. Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey were there for some shooting. We took few snaps of them and moved to the next floor. We finally decided to have some food. We ordered Pizza’s and got something gooey which they said were Pizza’s uhh… they tasted bad, really bad. By the time we finished our Pizza the time was 4.10. We decided to make the move towards Lido.

We reached Lido by 4.15 and went in. I heard from Nagarjuna that the movie was good. By the time the movie started, just five minutes and then I completely lost the track of the time. It was so interesting and funny. It was a real nice movie, which had simple comedy and a great way of telling a story. That was real mind blowing comedy movie. By the time we came out, Nagarjuna proposed going to Terminator… I was also interested but our bad luck we ran out of tickets. So we decided we will comeback some other day. It was nice to be with friends that too with friends whom are in same frequency as you are in. Thanks guys. Thanks for the good time after a long gap... It was really amazing how the day went… hope we all have lot of days like this to come.

10-rupee bi-metal coin will be available soon

The country’s first bi-metal coin, in the denomination of Rs.10, will soon be available in the city. The coins made of aluminium bronze and cupronickel, which is primarily an alloy of copper and nickel, is being distributed to the banks where they will be issued through counters for general circulation. Reserve Bank of India officials said the coins, which were launched in Mumbai a month ago, were designed by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. The new coins, which were minted in 2007, come in two designs.

The coins with the theme ‘Unity in diversity’ on them would be immediately available in Chennai. The obverse side of the coin bear the lion capital of Ashoka Pillar with the lettering of ‘Satyameva Jayate’ in Hindi and the numerals indicating the denomination. The reverse side would have the representation of unity in diversity symbolised through four heads sharing a common body. This denotes people of four regions of the country coming together to be identified as one nation, the officials said. The coin would not be heavy on pockets as it weighs only 7.71 gms, the officials added. The other design depicting the theme of ‘Connectivity and Information Technology’ would be circulated later. RBI’s regional director (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) F.R.Joseph said that the RBI office in Chennai received soiled notes worth Rs.24 lakh every day. Of these, at least 10-20 per cent were currency notes in the denomination of Rs.10. While currency notes made of cotton rag paper last only for 10 years, the life of the coins is up to 20 years, he said. Such initiatives of introducing new coins or currency notes are taken based on the need. One of the reasons for launch of bi-metal coins in denomination of Rs.10 is to easily distinguish them from coins of other denominations, he said. Members of Madras Coin Society said silver coins in the denomination of Rs.10 were introduced in 1969. Three more designs were introduced in the three consecutive years.

The Central government and the RBI are considering the option of introducing plastic coated or polymer notes similar to those in circulation in other countries such as Australia and Singapore. But, a decision on that is yet to be taken.

Two Years and still counting …

Sometime when you look back at the path you came through, you will be surprised since you have exceeded your own expectations this may not suit all but suits people who know their own purpose of existence. Future is always a mystery, no one can guess the way things will happen. I have found it in a very different way. Two years back this was the day I started living my dream. A dream which was there on the back of my mind, which gave me sleepless nights, was realized on this particular day. There were many saying about the choice that I made. I made one thing clear to my own self that there shouldn’t be any regrets about the choice that I made in the future. Fortunately nothing like that happened till now.

I know it will be vague for you people to follow, let me put it plain and straight. I am finishing my Two years here in Tata Elxsi Limited (TEL) today. Two years back this was the day I became an official Bangalorean. This was a wonderful journey, filled with everything you can never even imagine. For someone who had a worst college life with people of opposite frequency, these years where like living in heaven with people of same frequency and thoughts. It was indeed a great place to start your Career. I won’t forget even a single thing which happened in these two years and the years to follow.

The knowledge that I gathered, the friends I made, there are thousands of things which can be said and written about these two years. All together, this was like a roller coaster ride for me. Hope there is many more surprises and challenges coming ahead for me in the years to come.
The choice I made two years back, choosing TEL over CTS and KEANE not had a single impact on my life till now ( :-) ). My life here @ TEL has been really interesting and with some good friends around. Life was never this better in the past, I don’t think it will be in the future either.

It had its own share of problems too, with recession hitting us people badly but still we seen through the turbulent times with hope and confidence. That's what has kept us people going and keeps the same in the future too. On this very special day, I like to thank each one of them for being part of my success. I like to thank my friends and family, who always believed in me and supported me. I like to thank the people who were doubtful about my abilities, without those words from them I would never have reached this far to prove them wrong. Personally I like to thank them for provoking me.

Hope this all continues for the years to come. I hope for things to remain the same as they are now.

Hectic days… are finally over…

The last one month has been really hectic; I had no time to look into my blog. Not even managed to publish a single post. My Office had temporarily become my shelter for most of the hours and I left home just to sleep and finally am out of all these, feeling a bit relaxed now. Add to that I had hurt my left knee and was moving around with a clip Band-Aid in my knee. The whole knee joint swelled and it was so painful to walk itself. I could fold my left knee and thank god I didn’t end up with a fracture. Now I am kind of recovered from the injury though am not 100% fit am able to walk now as before.

The last week of the month was something special which I will remember for years to come. I had been to Sri Rangam lot of times but this time with a leg injury traveling there was painful to the body but the heart and soul desperately wanted to be there. My whole left leg was swelling below the knees and was very difficult for me even to stand but this trip to Sri Rangam was really special and is still fresh in my minds.

I had an ID (Individual Development) class in my center also in my native, there were around some 220+ people and there were lot of feedback once the class was over. I liked that Buzz and I deeply missed it and am looking forward to the next year. Because I won’t go there for another ID class till next year. It was happy to know that even I was able to motivate people and inspire them. The magical weekend had another plus I got salary and also my Continuity Bonus, It was a big amount (At least for me). It was sad to know that my weekend was over. I really didn’t wanted to leave my native though am here physically my soul is still roaming there in my native.

The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.' Then the saint asked, 'What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small...' The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Creating a folder without name

Do you think creating a folder without name in Windows is possible??
If you say NO, then here is the procedure for proving that you can create a folder without name in windows.

Just create a new folder in Windows. If you don’t name it windows by default name it to be New Folder, even if you give space it will show New folder only as the name. So now just edit the folder name. Delete the New Folder, and type 255 (on the Num Lock pad)in keyboard by pressing the alt key. Then hit enter. It will create a folder without name in Windows. Hows that???? if you don't believe it try it your self.

The Unexpected call

I was placed in Caritor Technologies (Now Keane), way back in June 22nd of the year 2006, it was my first campus interview which was on campus and I made through and got an offer. After that I had two more offers and joined Tata Elxsi Limited as I mentioned earlier. Cognizant (CTS) called me in November 19th of the year 2007, I joined Tata Elxsi Limited way back in 11th June of 2007. The interesting thing was Caritor didn’t call me and I was waiting when they will think of calling me. Then some where in February my friends were called to join some in Chennai and some in Hydrabad but still I was no where intimated officially.
Sometime later they mailed me from campus helpdesk saying that I should update my contact details and I did the same and after one year I got a call day before yesterday (March 16th of 2009) saying that they have my joining date and I was asked to join on 23rd March 2009 as a trainee for a stifund of 8000 bucks per month and once I finish my training I will be offered 2.75 Lakhs per annum. I listened to them patiently asked them what took them so long to call me, the reply was when they called me through my mobile I was not reachable and to read the mail I sent and call be back on my new number took them one year (Great Isn’t it??). Finally I said, “I won’t join you, thanks for your call… I am working for the past one and a half years in Tata Elxsi Limited as a Design Engineer. Since this was my first company where I got placed just wanted to know when you people will call me so only I updated my contact details”. The lady at the other end said “Thanks for your time and all the very best for your future.” Finally I got a call from the company were I thought I will work.

The Rail Journey

I was coming back to Bangalore from my native Erode on 23rd February 2009, in Intercity Express. That’s after a four day vacation, it was my usual routine but this time the journey was bit special. There were around some seven to eight kids in my compartment and it was their games and childish things which attracted everyone.

I almost slept after getting into the train till Salem. Then I realized there were kids running here and there, and woke up to see their activities. Mine was the window seat and I was enjoying the nature outside and kids inside. They were so adorable and cute. There were lot of cries and smiles, but it was all attractive. The whole compartment was eying these kids and no one really knew how much of time passed. When the train reached Bangalore everyone wondered why the journey ended so soon.

Path to the dream

I still remember this day (17 February), it’s a special day to me. It was special from two years back. That was the day I traveled to Bangalore for TATA ELXSI Interview. It was not the first time that I was traveling to Bangalore or it was not the first Interview that I was appearing for.

It was the year 2007 and February 16th afternoon, I started from Erode my native in Intercity Express towards Bangalore. It was funny to see people and the expressions they gave when I said I am going Bangalore tomorrow for an Interview; they thought seeking another job with two MNC offer letters in pocket is a foolish act. But they won’t understand that it’s a matter of realizing a dream and choosing your own carrier. They can’t even imagine it because it’s all about the passion and dreams that are in you towards your carrier.

I was traveling for an interview with no idea about the pattern of the paper or the field of work they are involved in the only thing it was driving me was the word TATA. It was my dream to work for India, work for the TATA’s and here I am with an opportunity to realize my dream.

The interview was in RV institute of management, JP Nagar. I was able to few more people going my way for the same interview but none of them was like me, in the sense they had books and were sailing the ocean in the books where as I was without any books.

The crowd was massive, there were around 4000+ people I think, but still I had the hope of clearing things in my way. Some may call it over confidence, some call it arrogance but I call it courage and self belief. I knew what I can do and what I cannot do. That is what makes me strong.

I never felt nervous in any of the previous interviews, but there was pressure on me feeling so tensed because this one is worth my dream and I didn’t wanted to miss it. Even without knowing the pattern and without any preparation I was able to clear the written and was asked to appear on the next day for technical around 10 AM.

The next day too was a piece of cake at the end though I had one and a half hours of technical round with two people bombarding me with questions from either side. One fellow firing C questions and the other launching microprocessor and microcontroller still I was able to defend myself. Was able to clear and it went forward to the final round and walked out as the third fellow with a letter.

The third offer letter(I had Caritor and CTS offer letter before appearing for this interview), it may be third to me but it matters a lot to me and no one can feel the same as me when it comes to this. The other too packages were good and more than this but all I work for is pride and not for money. That day I made myself clear that I will join this and nothing else no matter what.

Here I am after two years living my dream here with happiness and still cherishing that very special day.

A divine experience @ ISKCON

It’s been nothing new in my routine, but something special came in my way, so am writing it here. Its my usual routine to pay a visit to ISKCON and Prasanna Veera Anjaneyaswami Mahalakshmi Layout every Saturday. But last Saturday was something different from others and a special one too.
There was usual crowd in both the temples, and bhajans too. The special thing was the pallaku urchavam of the lord Krishna. I never saw it before so that may be why it was special or it was the way things were done which was special. I don’t know which was special but the whole thing was special. The whole thing was something colorful for the visual and it’s really something where people where fully mesmerized by the thoughts of the lord in their mind. I can see lots of people sitting there mesmerized by the events.

The small pond there inside the temple (KALYANI) was decorated beautifully, there is where the utsavamurthy(The statue of GOD in metal) was gonna sail in boat. I don’t think I have words to explain how beautiful was the decoration, I took few snaps of it in my mobile and uploaded the same here. So that people get a feel of how it was. It was a pleasure to watch it. It was divine experience indeed where I can see people there thinking only about Krishna and forgot things like recession, fuel price, pay cut, firing and all. That’s why it’s a real divine experience.
For almost half an hour all the people there were without thoughts other than lord Krishna. Their lips and minds were engaged in chanting the names of the Lord.

Just wanted to share my opinion

At a time when almost 90% of my Satyam friends are cribbing about the fraud and betrayal by Ramalinga Raju, I have a slightly different opinion. It's bold of me to write this in black and white but this comes straight from my heart and experience.

Let me start by quoting an example of 2006. Most of my friends were unemployed with 50-60% plus marks in BTech, with a degree from an average University and hunting madly for a job. Whether people accept it today or not but the truth remains that Satyam was the ONLY savior and the only mass recruiter who was ready to accept students who had back logs but had cleared them and also it did not put a very strict minimum marks criterion. And this was true not only for my small college at Lucknow but also those across India. Satyam is the fourth largest in IT in India. Looking at India's population I really want to thank Raju for giving some 54000 Indians jobs at least for all these years. He was the reason for the revival of confidence and the reason for the bread and butters for many families.

Satyam training was renowned all over India. Their STC training centre created numerous love stories and unexpected rekindling of a youthful environment where girls and boys were more independent than their college days. I remember most of my Satyam friends felt that they made better friends at Satyam's three to six months training than those in the four years of BTech.

Unfortunately people forget to thank God in sad times. I understand that what Raju did is deplorable and unpardonable. He should have treated business more formally and not dealt with it like a family affair. He should have been strict a couple of months or years before itself. Why did he hire so many non potential candidates and keep them on bench? When were the managers and the team mates last told that if they don’t work hard, they will lose their job? Business cannot be run lousily.

I have been staying with some 200 odd girls for the last 2 years and many of them are from Satyam. Moreover I network a lot and I have lots of male friends at Satyam. I have seen how people tail gate to Satyam, how they give their swipe cards to others to swipe it on their behalf , how female employees have gone home sharp at 6am irrespective of when they landed at office, how employees sit at home for months at a stretch, prepare for all kind of post graduate entrance exams and still enjoy a full month's pay, how often they went for movies at local theatres at office hours, how often employees went to office just to sign on registers in the morning and at evening, how often they faked their certificates , how often they put unlimited fake medical and house rental bills.

How can we blame just one man when EACH AND EVERY person was disloyal ? How can we exclude Auditors like PwC ? How can we exclude the Board of Directors who has washed their hands off so clean? How can we exclude banks who gave hefty loans without true verification? How can we exclude the Chief Minister of AP who allowed leniency for Raju's fellow businessman? How can we exclude managers who were never able to trace which bench employee under him had been away from office for how long ?
Yet how can people forget this is the same man whose ideas and potentials gave them an identity for the past several years? How many couples found the right match at an IT industry , courtesy Satyam and how many Andhra farmers benefited from their crores of investments in Satyam shares .How can people forget that Satyam launched its offices right at the doorsteps of a residential colony, where people can simply walk to work ?

The most gruesome experience that I can recollect was when a Satyam tag wearing person was waiting to attend an interview and I overheard him saying that he was in a business meeting at the My Home Satyam ( Madhapur) office when he was sitting right in front of me at a totally different company. When employees themselves show such a lousy attitude and don’t care a damn for the brand that they carry around their neck, how can they expect others to care?

I am not saying that ALL Satyam employees are bad. I have known very dedicated people too, but my point is very clear, before pointing fingers at others, introspect .There are thousands of people who have completed certifications at the cost of Satyam, got trained at Satyam. Satyam made several freshers stand on their feet to get better jobs elsewhere across the globe and attain onsite exposure through Satyam.

What Raju did was to keep the business of Satyam going at any cost. I see a very smart man in him when he understood that he should rather accept his mistake than be caught by the USA laws . I see a selfish father in him too that he put a lot at stake for Maytas. However, he resigned with a lot of dignity and his letter of resignation shows humility. It takes a mammoth amount of courage to accept your mistake in public at a time when the media is ready to blow everything out of proportion. If humans don’t make mistakes who else would ?

My last salute to this man is for creating such mass employment in India for 57k employees and 57k families when even opening a beetle(pan) shop in a lane in India is a challenge !! Thanks to him for creating income for all the thousands of families who benefited through food chains, the Tiffin wallahs, the transport people and all those who made money by renting their houses.

I read he donated Rs 12000 crores from his personal pocket to give the January salary of his Satyam employees. Today Satyamites call Raju a FRAUD. The true and loyal Satyamites surely have all the reasons to say this word. But all the rest who sucked every rupee out of Satyam without doing any value addition need to understand - who was a bigger fraud.

I got the above information as a forward. I could not control my emotions and anger. I am really fed up because of the justification this person has given and wanted to share few things. I started discussing what was said in actual phase of mind. Whoever wrote this mail should be ashamed to write like this. Whoever it is what she wants to prove??? Isn’t it giving a justification for whatever Mr.Ramalinla Raju had done? My point is every criminal will have a valid reason for his crime so can we leave them just because they have a valid reason for crime?? The Person whoever wrote this letter is who is proud to be a true Indian and a true Engineer. I wanted to ask what do these things in the mail mean.

Look at the second paragraph it says,

So recruiting ill qualified people, who are not fit to work in international standards and spoiling the whole standard system was the biggest help that SATYAM did to INDIA. That’s what SATYAM is contributed to then. Let me speak of this in detail, if they took people who had backlogs and cleared it later. The people who didn’t had eligibility criteria even to appear for other company interviews were taken by SATYAM. Now that’s why there are so many Engineering Colleges that grown in short time in India and there is no respect to Engineers. In IndiaJapan, but India is 50 years behind Japanese technology. When there are companies like SATYAM, who encourage the ill qualified India will never be a developed country. there are 5 times more engineers who graduate every year when compared to

The third Paragraph says,

What is the point making friend means it is a good company eh? Even people who are terrorists make better friends during there training in Pakistan than the whole time they spent before they went for training. So you should say whatever they have said is true eh??? What has it got to do?? I can understand that if someone says they gained more knowledge or contributed more to the society? Making friends is something great which never happens elsewhere is it??

The fourth paragraph is ultimate it says,

So they not only spoiled the education system but also the personal ethics. Look how great company it was people at theatres during office hours, other people will swipe for you and paid salary for people who were at home. People came to office, just for signing registers. Great isn’t it? Whoever wrote it if that person knows this much the management should have known it isn’t it? Then why did they kept their mouth shut and kicked those people out and warned other peoples? So they had no ethics from the beginning that’s all I understand from these statements.

The ninth paragraph says,

Cheating employees make a person wise is it?? What he resigned with dignity eh ?! His letter of resignation shows humility uh?! What the heck this person wants to convey. Raju knew well about the Indian Judiciary system and he knew well that this case will take some twenty years for sure. There is no harm really to him then only he accepted it. It takes a mammoth amount of courage to accept your mistake in public this is utter scam. If he admitted that he did faking the sheets when he did that first then that’s what is called courage. He had no escape and he rode on his lie for years and was got red handed when he was trying to buy MAYTAS without any money. This is not courage this is utter fraudulent, who else you call him a mahatma is it??

The tenth paragraph says,

“My last salute to this man is for creating such mass employment in India for 57k employees.”

Even selling dope and prostitution creates employment to people, so doing things illegally which create job opportunities should be given respect eh?? Then salute politicians who create job opportunities to more than 57K families my having GUNDAS.

The last paragraph is ultimate it says,

What the F___ ??? Did Raju gave his hard earned money or gave money by selling his family property?? It was all hard earned money for those SATYAM employees which these crocodiles have never shared it to the hard working people and had took for their own use.

This is why India has been suffering because of people thinking like this, when corporate like TATA and INFOSYS can have ethics in everything and can work for years without changing the morals. Few mushrooms who grown recently for sake of money doing things and publicly declared as the greatest people working for India’s development. At least Indians should think about this in the right way. There will be people who will make it like this and that’s why our country is a developing country for more than sixty years when countries which bought independence after us became developed countries.

The temple experience

I am not roaming around for the past twenty days. I didn’t have anything to write. But why am I writing this post then because something came across and it was worth sharing I thought. I am not so busy with work but didn’t have any new things or news to share. But then I have been going to temple all evenings and watching people play cricket in Malleswaram ground near my home when I am free. I have been reading a lot of books. I didn’t believe when I finished 23 books last month and I read nearly 130 pages per hour. I thought that was little too much for me. I didn’t had any books left to read as I read all those I had with me. So I was forced to move out and have some other things to concentrate on.

I started going to temple every evening. There is a Kannika Parameshwari temple in Malleswaram 8^th cross, where I used to spend my evening. There is something which I felt interesting, since this is the month of Margali month. There was Mahabharath told in that temple by an old Pandit. I used to spend my evening time from six to eight in the temple, hearing few chapters of Mahabharath. Its not that I don’t know it but hearing it from a different perspective was something interesting. The way the Pandit explains it was also something which got my attention. I am going through a different experience. It is really something where people need to concentrate and learn what our elders have given us. I realized there are lots more of things said via those two great epics to us. Everyone should find time to go through and understand those things which will definitely help making earth a better place to live.

I have seen lots of elder people who are there to hear the Mahabharath, regardless the freezing cold. They travel with their sweaters and caps in this part of the year where even youngsters don’t go out in the evening.

The Great Outing (Trip to Anandadhama) Day 2 - Part Four

The next ac tivity was Tarzan Swing, this time there was a twist in it. This is not a single swing this time. It was a double swing that we are supposed to make. Start from the stand take the first swing and reach back the stand again. It was a tough one of course and there was a preliminary elimination for this round on safety precautions. We had to jump from the ground and had to touch the stand with our two legs to qualify for the double swing. We were all given two chances to qualify. My first attempt was a failure didn’t quite make it and I made it in the second attempt. Our hero crocodile hunter didn’t qualify even after taking four attempts. We all found it difficult to do that but somehow I managed to complete the double swing. Crocodile hunter came to the stand saying he is gonna take single swing and he surprised all of us by completing second swing, Man he has guts. Most of our guys didn’t make it and Ponnanna was the fellow to complete double swing thrice I guess. [Picture 1 Ponnanna making his Jump, Picture 2 Crocodile Hunter in Action]

We then moved to the next activity archery and it was amazing and the arrows were a little bent I guess so our fellows found it difficult to shoot it at the bull’s eye. Everyone was given three arrows and those who hit the yellow circle gets two more arrows and those who hits the inner red circle gets five more shots. Most of the guys didn’t make it and Ponnanna hit the yellow circle twice. Then since to cut off the delay we all agreed that we will hit only three arrows each. We finished it off and few people who finished archery went for the ditch jump. I stayed back at archery decided to take the chance at the end so that I can get few more hits I thought. I didn’t fire any arrow even near the yellow circle, I also took one more arrow and tried but the results were the same. Then I rushed to the Ditch Jump. It was like Tarzan Swing, only difference was there was water between the areas to be crossed if you don’t make it correct you will drench yourself with water. No one was able to cross us other than one person, the person who crossed it successfully was our Crocodile Hunter and of course there was other person who too crossed it successfully but it was the demo given my Madhesh, who works there in the resort assisting Santhosh. We felt good by drenching ourselves in the water. I think I fell six times into the water and Srikanth was leading us all he dived in some eight times I guess. We didn’t have gun shooting session but we guys took lot of pictures with the rifle (it was almost like a miniature rifle). Nagarjun, Dhanasekar, Vijay, Sudhakar, Prasadth and of course myself were the top guys with guns. [Picture 5 Dhanasekar in Action]

Then we all rushed to the river bank got our Life Jackets and jumped into the river. Only few of us knew swimming and the others were with the confidence of having life jacket jumped into the river. We all were enjoying it and it really went for a long time. After around some one and a half hours, we got ourselves out of the water and went to our rooms. We packed our things, came to the dinning room and had our lunch. We then boarded the bus and everybody dozed off immediately. The return journey didn’t take too much of time we reached very early than what was planned. There were few great photographers Jegan, Manoj, Nikunj, Srikanth and Santhosh. They did cover near to a hundred pictures totally. Jegan, alone took 522 pictures. It was the most unforgettable outing I ever had or I should say we ever had. The Great Outing (Trip to Anandadhama) Day 2 - Part Three

The alarm that we kept yesterday night did ring on the correct time. I was very sleepy but was interested in trekking. I woke up Dhanasekara Pandian who was lying next to me he said he is not coming as he is so tired and then I switched to Nagarjuna and he too had the same answer. Somehow I convinced these fellows and asked them to get ready by 6.15 AM. We went near the Dining area and had our Tea and there were few other members there. We started our trekking at 6.45 AM and we went into the forest. Few of our guys used nature’s gifts and Sudhakar was leading us all. He broke a small stick from a Neem tree and started brushing his tooth, few others followed him there we were back on the path to Stone Age. There were some amazing spiders in the forest, they were huge in size and I never saw any spider at that size. I realized that I was not the only person surprised by the spiders all the others were in the same amazement as I was in. We went to the waterfall nearby and there were even bigger spiders. People were busy photographing the spiders. We spent a long time capturing spiders in the camera and missed the real trekking. Then we took a group photo there and started heading back to the resort for breakfast.

We reached Anandadhama at around 8.45 AM and had our breakfast. Our breakfast was Idly, Vada and Kesari Bath. We also had bread, butter and Jam. Santhosh came and said that we will spend some more time in the Jungle Gym (Tarzan swing, Ditch Jump and Archery etc.) then we will get into the river for sometime he said. We finished our breakfast and went back to rooms to keep our shoes in the room and refreshed ourselves and assembled back for the Jungle Gym activities.

The first Activity was balancing beam, there is a short bamboo kind of beam on which you have to walk and cross it to the other end. We all tried balancing for sometime and few made it and few of us failed. Then we were split into two teams one under Kiran Vinay Babu and another under Sudhakar. Both these fellows selected their team members and after the team selection Santhosh swapped the captains of the two teams. I mean Kiran was captaining the team chose by Sudhakar and Sudhakar was captaining the team chose by Kiran. I was on Sudhakar’s team. The rule was the teams will start from the opposite ends and have to reach the other respective ends. The teams should crisscross only in the red zone.

We were given five minutes time to come with strategies. We decided that our team will sit on the red zone and Kiran’s team will crisscross us there in red zone then we will move towards the end. The rules were of the available two ropes one per each team that can be used as life line and only one person from a team can hold in any point of time and another rule was if the captain of the team falls down the whole team has to start from the beginning and even if one person is not there we cannot crisscross. Another important rule was there should be no human language used for communication once the game starts. We started off and Sudhakar was in the middle and Prasath was in the lead position and somehow we easy got into the red zone and sat comfortably. Meanwhile Kiran’s team had trouble in reaching the red zone and Kiran who was leading his team from the front fell once so they had to start from the scratch again. It took us long time even to figure it out and there was one of our teammate Chaitanya falling on outside and Kiran’s team was finding it difficult to crisscross us. This was called off in between and Santhosh, the instructor told us that we guys should have crossed and Kiran’s team should have sat as we had short distance to cover to the red zone and then we all realized that, we just did it the other way around.

Will post the remaining in my next post or else it will be too big and difficult to follow.

The Great Outing (Trip to Anandadhama) Day 1 - Part Two

We had an OBL (Out Bound Learning) and there were our instructors for the day Krishna and Ponnama. They said us to have Lunch, then get ready and assemble at 2.45 PM to start the Training. We guys left to the rooms some people went to Tents, some to Log house and some to Villas. I and another two friends took a log house and it was really good. Then we went to the dining room and had our lunch. The food was not so great but was of OK type. Then we had the first activity it was forming a square with the rope given two you with completely blindfolded team members. Our team was named fruits and there were some 13 members and the other team was names ice creams they too had 13 members. We started the activity and it was really tough when we were holding it, it was in the shape of circle somehow we managed to keep it down as a square with one side skewed and it was kind of great achievement I thought. Then we went on to the next activity which was Tarzan Swing. There was a stand above ten feet height from the ground and there was a rope given and you have to jump from the stand and reach as much as ground as you can. They split the distance into three areas the least had 5000 points, the most had 20,000 points and the area in between had 10,000 points. They asked us to write how much we can cover. Initially I wrote 10,000 limit. They gave chance to alter our targets at the last time. I said I will cross the 15,000 mark which is the boundary line of 10,000 and 20,000 area and I covered the same. The fellow in the picture (Vijay) is the only one who reached the 20,000 mark.

Then we moved to the next activity, it was Raft Making. We went to the cauvery river bank. They split us into three teams Crocodiles, Sharks and Pirates. We were the Sharks and Ragavendra was our team’s Leader. We had some expertise in our team a guy who was good at knots (Srikanth Eswaran). Ragavendra led our team and we did make a raft with two tubes at the bottom and few bamboos placed on the top of it and we did make it in time. The total time for this activity was 45 minutes you have to build the raft, make three rides in the river then carry it back to the place where you started and dismantle it. We did make the rat fast, three fellows are supposed to ride it. On the first round Sudhakar, Vijay and Ponnanna went for it. Because of uneven weight distribution the raft toppled. They got on it again and after some time the same happened. Our team toppled twice and by the time they steadied themselves the Crocodiles team finished their first ride. Then our guys did really well. They finished the ride successfully and came back. For the second ride, Ragavendra, Nagarjuna and I were on the raft and this time we had the balance quite right and we made it fast and reached back to the river bank. Then for the third ride, I along with Sudhakar and Ponnanna decided to take a go and we did cover it faster then the second ride. We finished off second and the crocodiles won it and there was only two minutes difference between both the teams. We did really achieve something after falling twice coming second is not so easy isn’t it?? Then we went back and I had a shower and refreshed myself. We had campfire @ 7 PM and then there was quiz @ the campfire and Srikanth was the quiz master. It was a brand identity quiz. Our team was team four and there were totally five teams with 5 members in each team. In our team, it was me, Nagarjuna Reddy, Dhanasekara Pandian, Vijay and Praveen. I personally found it difficult and so did our team. We started at zero points and we were to only team to finish with the same points they started.

Then we had dinner @ 8.30 PM. After that the organizer at the resort Santhosh said we can have a night trekking if we are interested and we agreed to it immediately. Right after the dinner we started the night trekking or I should call it night walking and we went into the forest and walked for some one and half hours and came back to room and fell down for sleep. They said that there will be a morning trekking at 6.45 AM and those who are interested should assemble near the dinning hall @ 6.30 AM next morning. We decided to go for that and after reaching home we kept alarm at 5.15 AM next morning and felt asleep. So we fell on the beds and there was AC in our room we tried to switch it on then we realized it was not an Air Cooler and was a SG (Sound Generator). We switched it off and said good night to each other and went into the sleepy world. The Great Outing (Trip to Anandadhama) Day 1 - Part One

Our company has planned for a team outing and it was organized for the domain wise and the trip was to a resort called Anandadhama which was 91 KM from Bangalore on the bank of the river cauvery. It was planned on 12 December 2008 and 13 December 2008, the plan was that we start here early in the morning and reach there before lunch on 12^th December and then start from there after lunch on 13^th December. There were around 30 members for the trip.

I have packed things a day before itself and was ready on 12^th December and went to Vijayanagar to be pickup point for few guys and I was one of them. There was a huge delay and the bus reached Vijayanagar one hour late. I was totally frustrated and tired of waiting and got into the bus. Then I heard the delay was due to Praveen (he was called Bijapura by our colleagues as he was from Bijapur).They were asking him to dance for delaying the trip and he was very hesitant. There was another shock on the way since the place through which we are supposed to go was in mayhem was the news. Kanakapura was the place we were supposed to go through and the government was trying to expand the road there, in this process few houses were demolished and people were stoning at buses and all kind of vehicles. So initially we thought of making a visit to the Art of Living ashram nearby but Prakash one of our colleague said he knows another way of reaching that place and can guide us and took over.[picture Bijapura (Crocodile Hunter)with his swimming goggles]

Then he chose the place where we can have breakfast not a big restaurant but a small hotel which is for “Thatte Idly” and is located in “Bidithi”. We stopped there for breakfast. The breakfast was two Thatte Idly’s and one vada with chutney and little butter. It was great in taste and then we carried our journey the path we took was a horrible one. Then we had some dancing and Sudhakar was astonishing with his moves and there were other fellows like Prasath Reddy who was also dancing with great moves and along with Prakash and Praveen (not the Bijapura, there were two Praveen’s). I too joined in for sometime. Sunil (My Manager) was also great and he got people break the hesitations and got almost everyone to dance. Prasath gave gestures of some Telugu actors like N.T.R, Balakrishna and so on. Sunil on the other side was giving gestures of some Kannada actors like Dr. Rajkumar, Shankar Nag and Vishnuvardhan. Then he finally got Bijapura into the party and he too danced. He had swimming goggles we made him wear it and dance. Everyone wore that swimming goggles and took photos. We started saying he is having swimming goggles and all so that he can see things clearly underwater. Bijapura is going to hunt crocodiles and because the crocodile hunter (Steve Irwin) died he (Bijapura) will become the next crocodile hunter and we all started calling him Crocodile Hunter. The roads were like they were built in Stone Age. Somehow we reached the place around 1.45 P.M. (Picture 1 Thatte Idly. Picture 2 Prasath Anna giving N.T.R Gesture.)

The place was totally inside forest and there was no network coverage. I looked into mobile and felt really bad as I cannot make calls or attend any calls. On the other hand was very happy since I will be disconnected from the outside world totally. This post covers till the forenoon the activities that happened in the afternoon will be continued in my next post.

The Great Walkathon 2008

I should say it was a great initiative and it had great response too and which gave a great experience, as the time I spent there was great. The timing was not punctual it was expected to start on 3 P.M but it started a bit late around 4 P.M. This was on December 6th and as I came to knew about this through a circular from my company thought of participating in it. It was organized by the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled commemorate the World Disabled Day which falls on December 3rd since 2005. It was a walk for 3KM which starts from Sri Kanteerava Stadium and stretches through the Cubbon Park and ends in the Kanteerava Stadium. It was good to see a lot of people around, school kids, college students and corporate people. All were there and showing a lot of interest. There were people carrying slogans and all against the recent mayhem @ Mumbai and it really felt good to know that there are still people here to care for the country. I met my friends after long time, since was out of the company from August I missed these people a lot and it was good to be with them. Shyam, Vishal, Sandeep, Parag, Satheesh and of course myself were together thought out the event and I had to leave sometime after the Walkathon and I did miss the cultural. It was a nice feeling and had a pleasant time.

The highlight was the talk that Vishal, me and Shyam were involved in we guys spoke about everything. I found that I had many things in common with Vishal. Vishal was a special friend to me as far as I am concerned he was the first fellow with whom I spoke on the day I joined Tata Elxsi so he is a special friend. I just realised that we too were in same frequency and it was good to be with him. After long time I felt so and apart from my close friend Venkatesh, I guess Vishal is the fellow with whom I found a frequency match. Its good to know that atleast there is a fellow around who has the same frequency as mine.
It was good that they provided stuff like caps, T-shirt, participation certificates and also provided water and biscuit through out the path.

The God's touch - climate

Yesterday was traveling home late in the evening somewhere after 9 PM in the evening and I realized the beauty of the nature and the blessing this city has got.... What a lovely climate it is blessed with and this is the real beauty. I was enjoying it as was walking all the way up to home understood the fact not just the evenings also the mornings have the same cool breeze around and that chills you out. This is just a touch of nature, gift from GOD. The tension, stress or what ever is blocking your mind just have a walk out in the evening or morning then, you yourself will feel good. Especially the walk, when there is a little drizzle and that too the morning drizzle is really God's own touch that this city has got. I am neither a poet to write poetry about this nor a painter to paint the nature, am just a ordinary man who in his own plain words is trying to explain the texture of the season which is currently robbing everyone's heart.

When there is a match, there comes Rain too

When ever there is a match played at the our garden city rain to gets there without getting tickets and it just spoils the match. That's what happened in the past and yesterday was no special. Indian's were on a roll as they won the previous three ODI's against the England who came India after their successful home series against South Africa where they beat them 4-0 under their newly appointed captain Kevin Pieterson. The England team just managed to bite dust and nothing else after the three matches and Indian fans expected India to seal the series here in the Bengaluru city. Chinnaswamy stadium was Jam packed and The same thing happened!? This time it just spoiled half the match we should say... the match was reduced to 22 overs per side and the rain was playing for the Indians... England was again in the mess as the revised D/L target was 198 in 22 overs and they failed to reach that. I was there in Shivaji nagar shopping with my sister and it was raining ... The thing I thought in my mind first after seeing the rain was... "There is a match today isn't it???"... when I was traveling back home heard lot of people say the same thing... hope the next match here will be played to the full Fifty Overs. I thought of this whenever there is a match kept in Chennai or Bengaluru the rain comes even before the match starts. The Indian government should think of building cricket stadiums in Ramanathapuram and other few parts of Tamil Nadu where there is little rain and host matches there atleast that way those places will get rain isn't it??

I was traveling to Erode my native (Turmeric city), I guess some two weeks back. The week before I had been there to Majestic to send off a few friends who were here for vacation and there were buses to Tamil Nadu there in majestic itself. so keeping that in mind I left late to majestic say around 9.30 PM. I could have easily gone by a train but thought of going by bus as the night journey may be comfortable and I will get chance to watch movies. To my surprise there were no Tamil Nadu buses in majestic and they were changed to Satellite bus stand. Stunning I felt and decided to catch a bus to Satellite bus stand and found one bus where people where hanging outside the bus with a luggage in hand I cant just hang outside a bus and was feeling sleepy too. Then was in search of Hosur bus so that I can get a bus from hosur. I was lucky,I should say. I got a bus to hosur immediately and got a seat too. Slept for sometime.... I reached hosur around eleven O clock and just to my surprise the whole bus stand was empty... Good heavens I was like standing in a deserted place with few hundreds of passengers felling lost.... then waited there for an hour and got a Dharmapuri bus reached Dharmapuri @ 3 O clock and the same story there too waited there for another one hour and then got a salem bus and then when I reached Salem I was relieved since I get frequent buses to Erode from there and got one such and reached home.... Finally the Journey was a lengthy one with Intervals of One hour in between. This nonsense was because Stalin was having a meeting in Krishnagiri and all Tamil Nadu government buses were sent there curse Stalin and the Government. These people never think of people... Those who were in an urgency to reach native or whatever these people never really care about these things.... I decided no more bus journeys and its only train.....

Bangalore 1942 A Love story...

Have you ever wondered how Bangalore would have been some where fifty years ago?
I recently got a few pictures of Bangalore which were taken during 1942 and here they are ….

Any guesses which road it is?? This is today’s Brigade road...

May be you will recognize this one? Hard ah?? This is the Life Insurance Corporation building near the Town Hall Area.

You can’t guess this one... I bet this is the place where now the Mayo Hall stands.

Yep this one is easy since it has the name in the picture this is South Parade road. Higginbotham book stall was there at that point of time.

I guess this one is simple this is easy to identify… No … come on you can’t give up this is the Town Hall area… The next picture will prove why it was so traffic free.

And this is one is the best see the number plate of the car it reads BAN565 is it?? This was the 565th car that was in Bangalore no wonder how less the traffic would have been.

DAY FIVE

Indians needed to bowl out Aussies as early as possible but the Aussies had their plan set as the players were in middle both Haddin and Watson was looking to attack. They played some good shots and added 75 valuable runs to the total before Watson was bowled by Ishant Sharma. The debutant Cameron White joined Haddin and they kept playing some good shots. Declaration came when Aussies where 228/6 lead by 298 runs Haddin scored 35* and White who scored 18* added 25 runs in 3.4 overs . Needing 299 to win off minimum 83 overs. Indians were in deep trouble as they didn’t want another Sydney repeated here. Shewag fell early finding the lone slip off Stuart Clark and the man who was known for killing time, “The Wall”, Rahul Dravid was caught off Brett Lee by Ricky Ponting which was indeed a superb catch. With just 24/2 on board and the two players who has better average on fourth innings out in the pavilion shewag (six) and Dravid (five). India were in deep trouble, when Sachin walked to bat India were like losing the test match, but Sachin ensured that doesn’t happed his stand with Gambhir where he added 53 runs with the left hander before he was bowled by a slow Mitchell Johnson delivery after scoring 29 runs off 81 balls.

Laxman joined Sachin in the middle and these two showed the meld of experience with talent as Sachin seemed in good touch and Laxman too was in a defensive mode as these too added 61 runs for the 4th wicket before Sachin got out becoming the first test victim to Cameron White when he miscued a drive to Clarke @ short cover he was dismissed for 49 and 15 runs short of Lara’s record. Cameron White broke into tears after getting the legends wicket as his first and he is now to seventh debutant to bag Tendulkar as his first wicket. India still had a tough task ahead when Ganguly joined Laxman and these two batted and the play was called off twice because of Bad light and finally the captains agreed it to be a draw.

Laxman scored 42* and Ganguly was 26* and India made 177/4. Aussies were pretty disappointed and they missed a quality spinner’s presence in the team. Brett Lee, Stuart Clark, Mitchell Johnson and Cameron White all took one wicket each. Zaheer Khan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all round performance. And the experienced FAB FOUR saved India from a match which seemed to be swinging in Aussies favor.

DAY FOUR

India desperately wanted to reduce the lead and was lead by Zaheer who scored 57 * and India ended its first innings with a score of 360 Anil Kumble and Ishant Sharma supported Zaheer Khan and added some important runs. Aussies with a lead of 70 runs started their innings and soon had Mathew Hayden in pavilion after scoring 13 runs was bagged by Zaheer Khan again as he trapped him LBW. Zaheer has dismissed Hayden six times - in each innings of a Test match twice - Nagpur in 2004-05 and Bangalore in 2008-09. Ishant Sharma had First Innings centurion Ponting caught by Laxman after he scored 17 runs. The First Innings centurion Mike Hussey with Katitch added 50 runs for the Third Wicket before the latter fell to Harbhajan caught by Laxman after scoring 34 runs of 189 balls. Ishant Sharma then had Michel Clarke caught by Shewag for 6 and Harbhajan sent out Hussey back to pavilion when he misread a “Dhoosra” which went all the way to his the stumps. Haddin Joined Watson in the middle Indians wanted to bowl out the Aussies and would have wanted a easy chase as the Aussies where 128/5 leading by 198 runs at that point. But haddin and Watson gave no chances and they added some valuable runs. Kumble was away for 103 minutes because of Shoulder injury and M.S.Dhoni was captaining the side in his absence and Kumble came back after sometime and bowled seven overs. Aussies Finished day four with 193/5 on board with Watson (32) and Haddin(28) were there in the middle. Ishant was the pick of the bowler with 2 wickets and Harbhajan too shouldered the responsibility in Kumble’s absence and he scrapped two wickets where Zaheer had one wicket to his name. The Aussies where leading by 273 runs.

DAY THREE

India needed some big scores from its batsman and things looked well until Lee drew the first blood when dismissed Gautam Gabhir for 21. Shewag fell to Mitchell Johnson edging one wide delivery to Hayden who was at slips. Tendulkar came to the middle with Dravid and Tendulkar needing 64 runs to break Lara’s record of most runs in test matches looked well until chipped one delivery to Cameron White off Mitchell Johnson and Laxman joined Dravid at center.

Soon Laxman was out edging one Mitchell Jonson delivery to Brad Haddin. Indians were trembling @ 106 for four. Ganguly joined Dravid and these two played some good shots and kept Indian hopes alive they added 49 runs for the 5th wicket before Dravid who made a fine fifty was out LBW and Watson gave Aussies an Important breakthrough.

Dhoni never looked like playing and was soon out missing one of Michel Clarke’s slow left arm delivery which hit the stumps after hitting a crack and India seemed they had no hopes when they lost Ganguly also to Johnson India was 232/7. Then it was Harbhajan and Zaheer who added a important 80 runs for eighth wicket before Harbhajan was dismissed for 54 by Watson India ended Day three with 313/8 Zaheer(35) and Kumble(0) @ the crease and Mitchell Johnson was the pick of the Aussie bowlers with 4 wickets while Watson managed to pickup 2 , Brett Lee and Michel Clarke managed one wicket each. Stuart Clark was Wicket less.

DAY TWO

Hussey resumed the play with Shane Watson and he got to his 50 with 122 balls. Watson was sent back to pavilion by an Ishant Sharma delivery which went on and hit the stumps. Haddin joined Hussey in the middle these two added 91 runs for the sixth wicket. Hussey went on to make his century and soon after that Haddin was caught by Laxman off Ishant Sharma. Then Cameron White was also dismissed in quick succession by Ishant Sharma. Aussies where six down for 350, when Haddin was dismissed. India’s hopes of bowling out Aussies less than 400 was shattered when Lee and Hussey added59 for the eighth wicket before Lee was bowled by Zaheer Khan and the score was 8 down for 421. Zaheer Khan then removed Mitchell Johnson by bowling him out and also disturbed Hussey’s stumps to send his as the last wicket he made 142 off 402 deliveries and hit 15 fours and a six. Zaheer took 5 wickets and conceded 91 runs, Ishant took 4 wickets and conceded 77 runs, Harbhajan took one wicket and conceded 103 runs and Anil Kumble bowled 43 wicket less overs and conceded 129 runs. Aussies where bowled out for 430 and Indians needed a good opening partnership, Shewag and Gambhir provided the same rain interrupted the play and was called off before time and Indians have made 68 runs without loss in 18.1 overs with Shewag scoring most of the runs as he scored 43 and Gambhir scored 20.

DAY ONE

Mathew Hayden and Simon Katich opened the batting for the Aussies and Zaheer Khan had the new ball and opened the Indian Bowling. The first over and it was the third ball when Zaheer got the wicket of Hayden when he Edged one to the Wicket Keeper and Dhoni made no mistakes and it was Hayden’s first duck in India and it was Hayden's first duck against India in 28 innings is his 12th in Test Cricket. Zaheer Khan has dismissed Hayden for the fifth time - once each in Brisbane (2003-304), Melbourne (2007-08) and Bangalore (2008-09) and twice in the 2004-05 Nagpur Test. Ponting came out to the center and the score was 0-1 and In his previous nine Test innings against India in India, Ponting's highest was just 16 at Bangalore in 1997-98. When he came out to bat the score card was showing that Harbhajan Singh has dismissed Ponting 8 times the most by any player. Ponting batted cautiously and at the other end Katich also was in the same mood they slowly crawled and kit boundaries in between and they made sure that they don’t lost anymore wickets. They made 166 runs for the second wicket. Simon Katich Scored for 66 off 149 balls before edging one Ishant Sharma delivery to M.S.Dhoni. Then Ponting and Hussey played some shots and Ponting was moving towards his first century against India in India and he got there and he broke the jinx.
There was a caught and bowled appeal by Kumble which was turned down by the umpire Rudi Koertzen after consulting with Leg Umpire Asad Rauf, where the TV replays confirmed that the decision may be given in the favor of the batsmen soon after that Ponting was sent back when Harbhajan Singh got him for the ninth times in ten matches. Harbhajan bowled one which pitched in front of off stump and turned a bit and hit Ponting on the pads and was given out LBW when the T.V replays showed it hit him out side the line. Ponting scored 123 runs of 331 balls with 13 fours. Then Michel Clarke joined Hussey in the center no one will forget this man who made his debut in Bangalore during the 2004 series where he made 151 and got six wickets and thankfully that didn’t happen this time when Zaheer disturbed his stumps during the last over of the day. Aussies ended day one with 254/4 on the board Hussey still unbeaten on 46. The Pick of the Indian bowlers was Zaheer and he got two while Ishant and Harbhajan bagged one wicket each and the legendary Leggie Anil Kumble was wicket less.

Clash of The Titans in Bengaluru

No one expected such a big match and what a battle it was, Clash of the Titans and two teams who were engaged with controversies and always given some entertaining cricket.
There were exciting moments in the match and was really a good match to be remembered and only thing this match has left void is that was the result.. If there was a winner then it would have been a great contest.

Even before the series begun the war of the words started Stuart Clark warning Indian players not to play mind games with Mathew Hayden which will just bring the best of him, (As though our guys are there just to play mind games and not to cricket and guess who says it an Australian player, these guys are known for playing mind games both off and on the field and they are warning us. I should say Stuart Clark has a good Sense of humor).
The Australians definitely missed lot of experienced players like Glen Macgrath, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Damian Martin, Justin Langer and Steve Waugh since they were retired and Andrew Symonds was not in the team after missing the team meeting with a gone fishing episode, there were only three players in the Team who have played test cricket before in India, Mathew Hayden, Ricky Ponting and Michel Clarke. This team was said to be the weakest Australian tour that was touring India when compared to the teams which toured in the last Decade. The main thing which was spoken about was the lack of an experienced, front line spin bowler. The Aussies had Cameron White, Jason Krejza and Bryce McGain were the spinners named in Aussie Line up though Cameron White was called late and replaced the Injured Bryce Mcgain. All these three Spinners were yet to make their International debut.
Indians too had their own concerns about the failure of their famed middle order. The FAB FOUR failing to click in the India tour of Sri Lanka which resulted in the series loss to India were on papers and there were comments about the FAB FOUR saying that it was time of these guys to retire. Though Indian Captain Anil Kumble said It was just a series that they failed and everyone knows what they have done to Indian Cricket over a decade there were talks about someone or the other getting dropped and omission of Sourav Ganguly from Irani Cup added more to the media. Sourav Ganguly's decision to retire after the series added more expectations from the FAB FOUR.
After all these speculations around the First test begun of October 9th, India lost a crucial toss and was forced to field since the toss winning captain Ricky Ponting wanted to bat first.

The Rainy Evening...

I dont know how people feel when it rains...
I dont know how many people love rain....
but I am a rain lover...
I love to walk in rain no matter how heavy the rain is, I cant stare @ it just standing without getting it....
I feel like its like touch of God and its a true feeling and words are not just enough to explain how it feels to walk in rain...
Another thing which I like to do when it rains and did so far was cycling in rain and that too moving slowly in the path which is filled with rain and the feeling when rain drops fall on your face, shoulders and all is really a heavenly feel...

And having a hot sip of Tea on a rainy evening what else on this world can be a better thing than this?!

Thats the city I was speaking about. I always wanted to be here. I like this city not jsut because of the climate, it has even more things than climate, the real beauty is what it has which now people are slowly spoiling in the name of development. This city holds a special space in my life. This place has seen me cry in pain and have seen me filled with smiles. This is where I live alone with memories nothing otherthan memories left....
